There are numerous resources available for educators and students of all ages to engage in learning about the larger world around them in the Philadelphia area. South Philadelphia High School has a very diverse student population that, at the minimum, gives students the opportunity to learn and work with a peer who is culturally very different. Teachers are able to build upon the mosaic in their classrooms by collaborating with numerous agencies and organizations that provide support in and beyond the classroom with after school programming, workshops centered on global issues and field trips. Juntos is a Latino immigrant community led organization in Philadelphia fighting for our human rights as workers, parents, youth, and immigrants. Juntos provides workshops for Latino students and after school activities to build community, partnerships and learning opportunities.

BPSOS is a national Vietnamese American community organization with the mission to "empower, organize, and equip Vietnamese individuals and communities in their pursuit of liberty and dignity." BPSOS works with Vietnamese high school students in after school and summer programs to create and support the local Asian community through cultural celebrations and youth empowerment.
Reaching more than 2,000 students from public, private, parochial and charter schools throughout the greater Philadelphia region each year, the World Affairs Council's educational legacy has helped to build a growing corps of leaders with the critical skills necessary to assume the responsibilities of global citizenship.

Holocaust Programming - The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is dedicated to offering an assortment of Holocaust programs throughout the year that heighten public awareness about the Holocaust (especially among youth), honor survivors and use lessons from the Holocaust to teach tolerance in our diverse society. Our programs serve to engage people of all ages and backgrounds in conversations about the contemporary relevance of the Holocaust and its lessons.

The United Nations Association of Greater Philadelphia strives to make our city and our citizens proud of the fact that the principles underlying the Declaration of Human Rights can be traced back to the work embodied in the US Constitution; we own that heritage, let’s use it. They offer workshops and mentoring programs for young professionals, college and high school students. American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) is a Quaker organization that promotes lasting peace with justice, as a practical expression of faith in action. Drawing on continuing spiritual insights and working with people of many backgrounds, they nurture the seeds of change and respect for human life that transform social relations and systems. AFSC has numerous ongoing take action projects that are global in breadth and enable students to analyze and engage in global issues in depth.
